This green tomato and apple chutney is one of best things we've tasted here at Global gardens. Our gardener Kai brought it to share at lunch and we were so impressed by how sweet and fruity it was that we had to ask for a recipe.
1kg Green tomatos
350ml White vine vinegar
400g the darkest sugar you can get
1 teaspoon pickling spices or mustard corn
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon mixed spices
1 teaspoon pepper corn
Salt to taste
Cut it all into small pieces and cook slowly until thick enough. Pour it into jars. It will make about 1 litre of chutney.
