EDICULTURE
Ediculture is coming to Global Gardens Project this Spring!
We are really excited to let you know about an Ediculture course we are going to be running at Global Gardens with growing tutor Stephen Watts this spring to summer thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Find in Wales 'Together for Our Planet' programme.
The course will cover the 8 phases of Ediculture:
Wild Food
Growing your own food
Permaculture design
Seasonal awareness
Cooking and nutrition
Herbs and herbal medicine
Community skills
Nature connection
It will include 8 practical fortnightly sessions at Global Gardens with field trips to Coed Hills (Sunday April 10th – 17th July, 10am-4pm).
The course is ideal for people interested in growing their own food and increasing self sufficiency, working with community groups, learning about crop planning and design of allotments/food growing spaces, nutrition, herbal medicine and working as a community.
Completing this course will build edible cultural skills, from foraging, to growing to cooking, to working with others. This basic training in the core 8 phases of ediculture can also open up inspiration to any one of the 8 areas of study and the possibilities for deepening this work into the future, where downscaling and re-localising food production become a necessity.
We are looking for people who are ideally able to commit to all 8 sessions.
If you are interested in finding out more and to book a place contact Stephen via phone (07507578885) or email (soilandclay@gmail.com).
Supported by the National Lottery Community Find in Wales 'Together for Our Planet' programme.
