'TOGETHER FOR OUR PLANET' CLIMATE ACTION ARTIST RESIDENCIES

Do you identify as: -A recent arts graduate
-An early career artist
OR-Returning to your arts practice after a career break?
We are looking for two self-motivated, independent artists that meet the above criteria to work on a short-term, site-specific artist residency at our community allotment in Cardiff.
We are interested in working with artists who would like to engage with and create artworks/installations/events centred around responses to the climate emergency and the need for community-based climate action.
Selected artists will work in our community allotment space with others to create a response which will be exhibited or shared in some way at our climate action festival in the garden in December. We are open to the format of the response – it could be for example paintings, drawings, prints or an installation.
What you will have access to:
§ Studio space in our community classroom and garden on agreed days.
§ Opportunity to collaborate with session leaders and volunteers on garden volunteer days.
§ Mentoring from artists that engage with the environment through their work.
Budget for each residency: £750 (to cover materials and a minimum 3 days on site at 200£ per day).

About Global Gardens: Global Gardens is a community allotment that aims to support community-based learning and action around climate action including via organic gardening, seasonal and nourishing cooking and sustainable arts and crafts as well as intercultural and intergenerational communication and understanding. We host regular volunteer sessions as well as outdoor play sessions and a series of workshops on sustainable arts and crafts and regenerative growing.

Rydym yn chwilio am ddau artist annibynnol hunan-gymhellol sy’n bodloni’r meini prawf uchod i weithio ar breswyliad artist tymor byr, safle-benodol yn ein rhandir cymunedol yng Nghaerdydd.
Mae gennym ddiddordeb mewn gweithio gydag artistiaid a hoffai ymgysylltu a chreu gweithiau celf/gosodiadau/digwyddiadau sy’n canolbwyntio ar ymatebion i’r argyfwng hinsawdd a’r angen am weithredu hinsawdd cymunedol.
Bydd artistiaid dethol yn gweithio yn ein gofod rhandir cymunedol gydag eraill i greu ymateb a fydd yn cael ei arddangos neu ei rannu mewn rhyw ffordd yn ein gŵyl gweithredu hinsawdd yn yr ardd ddechrau mis Rhagfyr. Rydym yn agored i fformat yr ymateb – gallai fod er enghraifft paentiadau, darluniau, printiau neu osodiad.
Yr hyn y bydd gennych fynediad iddo:
§ Gofod stiwdio yn ein hystafell ddosbarth gymunedol a'n gardd ar ddiwrnodau y cytunwyd arnynt.
§ Cyfle i gydweithio ag arweinwyr sesiynau a gwirfoddolwyr ar ddiwrnodau gwirfoddolwyr gardd.
§ Mentora gan artistiaid sy'n ymgysylltu â'r amgylchedd trwy eu gwaith.
Cyllideb ar gyfer pob preswyliad: £750 (ar gyfer deunyddiau ac o leiaf 3 diwrnod ar y safle am 200£ y dydd).
